What is it?
Restamping of the chassis number (or vehicle identification number, VIN) may take place if a vehicle fails its technical inspection, or has been stolen, repaired or involved in an accident. In case of theft or fraud, a police request will be required. If the request comes from the technical inspection service, a document (sheet) from that service will be required. Lastly, following a repair, we also need the invoice for the new part (inner wheelhouse) as well as the old part on which the chassis number is engraved. If you no long have this, a restamping authorisation from the police will be needed.
